Stony Brook Medicine, our health science and medical enterprise, includes the schools of Medicine, Dental Medicine, Nursing, Health Technology and Management, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Social Welfare, as well as the Hospital, our major centers and institutes, programs, clinics and community-based healthcare settings, and the Long Island State Veterans Home.
From bench work and data crunching to molecular cloning, DNA sequencing and proteomics data analysis, the Office of Scientific Affairs (OSA) oversees the Renaissance School of Medicine’s core research facilities and functions. The OSA’s sophisticated services not only include running the experiments that provide the data, but also consulting, collaborating, educating and supporting all.
Stony Brook Cancer Center. Through research in Stony Brook’s laboratories, gifted physician-scientists are gaining a better understanding of cancer and developing new approaches to diagnosing and treating the disease. The center focuses on three core areas — clinical care, research and education — all of which lead to improved care.
SCHOOL OF MEDICINE. From medical imaging and informatics to precision and population health, Stony Brook’s eleven unique health science schools, programs and comprehensive institutes work as an integrated team across disciplines, departments and across campus to lead the way in biomedical research, health education, healthcare reform, clinical training and innovation.
He joined Stony Brook in 2010 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology but his affiliation with Stony Brook goes back to his residency and fellowship days. Dr. Bucobo received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and received his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine applauds individual student investigators who, in addition to completing their didactic and clinical dental program, have acquired research skills and engaged in significant and sustained research activity.
